Zazzle Donates to Partners in Health for Haitian Relief

by

Zazzle had a lunch to celebrate the New Year, new employees, and to talk about a very serious issue. You couldn’t turn on a TV over the past two weeks without seeing images of the terrible destruction in Haiti, and the continuing suffering of the Haitian people, as a result of the large earthquake that struck the country on January 12. It is truly a tragedy that has affected the lives of millions. And while we aren’t quite big enough to have our own Zazzle navy to send down for disaster relief, we still felt it was important to act as a company and as a community of concerned individuals. That’s why Zazzle has decided to contribute to Partners in Health to make sure that crucial medical care is given to those that need it most. Partners in Health is a wonderful organization which has provided health care to the poor in Haiti since 1985. They were in Haiti before the earthquake, and they will continue to provide health care services after the earthquake is cleaned up. We encourage anyone else that wants to join Zazzle in donating to Partners in Health to visit their website and make a donation. Check out the big check we are sending, made possible by our great team and our rapidly growing Zazzle community!

Hello, from Spain! I have also donated all royalties generated at my Zazzle store QUIXOTEDOTTV to date to Haiti Save The Children. Mine was not as big as your cheque, but I have an idea for you to share with all zazzlers so that we maximize results:

Zazzle could implement an automatic donation system for partners to opt in through the appropriate selectable menu. To date we can choose the royalty percentage we receive for each sale but if we would like to make people know that we donate consistently on each and every sale a certain percentage of each product price to Save The Children, Partners in Health or any other humanitarian relief organization of our choice (here Zazzle should make an extensive list of such organizations for us to choose to which one we would like to send a percentage of our sales).

Considering what you have done to date in Zazzle and the technology you display, this is not difficult for you. I believe there are many buyers who would love to contribute and donate to those in need while they are in the mood for buying something they probably do not need at all, at Zazzle.

Thank you for your consideration of this idea.

    Keep up the good job!!!

    Kind regards

I love Santiago’s idea, I would like the ability to choose my own charity. I support the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation and the Pine Ridge Reservation, both in South Dakota, and both currently in a STATE OF EMERGENCY due to blizzards and ice. Thank you for being so generous, Zazzle! Haiti needs everyone now.

I’m so glad you brought up this suggestion to Zazzle, Santiago, because I’ve been thinking of the same ideas for Zazzle to make available a list of organizations zazzlers can check off if they choose, and donate a percentage or all proceeds from a design. I’ve been struggling with a few designs not knowing how to offer a percentage of royalties to certain causes.

Let’s just say some people were skeptical of the notion that volunteers from all across the world could come together to create a remarkable pool of human knowledge – all for the simple purpose of sharing.
