Jeff Beaver, Zazzle Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer, was recently featured on a NBC piece about San Francisco Bay Area companies bringing manufacturing jobs back to the USA. A true testament to our commitment to high quality manufacturing in the US, the clips show Jeff talking about our production facility for custom t-shirts, mugs, and more in Santa Clara and our recent partnership with Rickshaw Bagworks (made in San Francisco). Check it out below.
Towards the end of the segment, the reporter makes the statement, “…And the outlook? More tags saying made somewhere else.” What do you think about that? I don’t think that’s the case. As personalization becomes the norm (what if your iPhone was partially designed by YOU?) and the cost of overseas labor and transportation rise, I believe there will be a demand for locally made/high quality products.
What do you think? Is American manufacturing coming back? Where do you want to see American manufacturing return?

That was a good news story. Perhaps the growth back to made in America will begin with smaller localized companies. With the dissatisfaction from overseas workers featured in news stories due to foreign work environments – the switch to alternative production resources may be in the future; could America be back on the rise in product manufacturing?

I agree that the cost of goods made overseas will rise (much to the chagrin of the other counties where the manufacturing facility is located). People cannot work for nothing forever. Hooray for Zazzle being a leader in this area.

Zazzle is innovative – not only bringing unique merchandise to the customer via an array of designer artwork on each product offered but by supporting USA made and local companies. This is a trend I see with Zazzle breaking out of the Print on Demand mold and becoming a company ALSO offering quality upscale products made in the USA. I am proud to say I am a designer for Zazzle products. Thank you, Zazzle.
