Website traffic, or the number of visitors to your site, is the key to success for an online business. There are many different ways to get people to your site from paid advertising to public relations, but there are also just the basics. Today, we’d like to share a few basic tips that can help you increase traffic to your website.
1) Make your site mobile-friendly.
Did you know that Google now takes into consideration if your site is mobile friendly in its search results? That’s right! Having a mobile friendly site is now more important than ever, so if you haven’t already, we recommend to check and see if your website is mobile-friendly. Use the nifty Google Webmaster tool and then follow these steps to improve and fully optimize your site for mobile.
2) Create good and SEO friendly content.
It’s important to create useful and exciting content so your customers and followers keep coming back to your site. A few ways to do that is to create distinctive and enticing headers to reel your readers in, and then to write about news and trending topics to keep them coming back. If you ever run out of topics, you can always ask your readers what they’d like to hear about. Linking to other relevant content wether within your own blog or website or someone else’s is a great way to enrich your content. Don’t forget to keep in mind best practices for SEO by using long-tailed and good keywords in your post titles, subheadings, and your image file names and alt tags.
3) Use multimedia.
Use impactful photographs, images, and infographics that will catch your readers eyes. Make sure your content is easy to share by adding the Pin-it button for example. Include videos in your posts by either uploading your own or using an existing one from the public domain. Last but not least, use fun interactive tools like SlideShare to keep your readers engaged to the last page.
4) Start guest blogging and link building.
Reach out to bloggers that have similar content and offer to write a guest blog post for them. Try to invite other bloggers to post on your blog as well. Not only does this help with varying your blog content, but you will also get the SEO benefit from when they link back to your blog.
