Nothing would make a superhero enthusiast happier than a fun-themed bedroom. A superhero kid’s room can be a fun way for you and your kiddo to get creative about something he or she loves. You can even create some of the décor on your own and purchase others, making this the perfect interior design project for any budget.

Here are some easy and fun ideas to incorporate the theme into your child’s room to make it the perfect resting place for your little superhero.

Start with the Perfect Shade

The first step in creating the ultimate superhero bedroom is a fresh coat of paint. Take the primary color from your child’s favorite hero and paint the walls. Reds, greens, or blues are very common in almost all superhero characters, so pick the most dominant color for the walls. This helps set the tone for the rest of the room.

Add Fun Bedding

The bed is the centerpiece of any bedroom. A nice duvet and pillow case with your child’s favorite superhero character will bring the whole room’s look together. This is the easiest way to introduce the character into the décor. Throw pillows and matching sheets are an added bonus if you can find them.

Create Fun Wall Art

A fun project you and your child can do together is create some fun decorations for the walls. If your child enjoys Legos, buy a few different smaller sets based on your child’s favorite Marvel superheroes. Help your child build the sets if he or she can’t do it alone. Once they are complete, set them in a shadow box and hang them on the walls of the room. You can also order or print off fun posters in your child’s favorite characters. Frame them in nice frames and place them around the room or above the bed. Shop around for vintage posters to frame as well. Attaching Halloween masks can also work as wall art.

Repurpose an Old Dresser

Another fun way to incorporate your child’s favorite characters is to repurpose a dresser in the theme. You can use the dresser already in the room or find a nice one at a flea market or thrift store. Paint the dresser in a fun color that coordinates with the character. You can dress it up by decoupaging the dresser in old comic book sheets.

If you don’t want to be that extreme, change out the dresser knobs with superhero knobs instead. It doesn’t matter if they match—that simply adds to the charm of the piece. What kid wouldn’t love a custom piece of superhero furniture they helped make themselves?

Change Out Switch Plates

Another easy way to add to the theme is to change out the standard switch plates. Shop online for switch plates that will match your little one’s theme. Or, you can make your own in the same way you did the dresser by decoupaging them with comic book pages. You can also try your hand at painting them yourself.

Add a Fun Floor Rug

You can bring the theme to the floor with a fun rug. You can find throw rugs in almost any design. This adds color to the floor and provides a soft place for your child to play while in the room.

Hang Curtains

You can also jazz up the room with some curtains. You can purchase pre-made curtains from the store with the superhero motif or you can make your own using our custom superhero fabric. Or you can hang solid curtains and add some fun tie backs featuring the characters instead. Simple valances are also easy to apply if you do not want full curtains in the room.
