Hope you’re all having a wonderful Monday to start the week! Our tech-savvy friend, WebJess, is back once more to tip us on how to have a successful website today. No matter what kind of website you have, we promise these tips will be useful to all!

Tips on Having a Successful Website

A great functioning website is critical in assuring you will get visitors and keep them returning to your website whether they are buying a product, using your services, or simply getting informed. By consistently updating and utilizing resources available, it can all only help your website succeed.

Straight to the Point

By this I mean it is very clear what your website is all about when visitors stop by. The look of your website should be very clean, inviting, and simple to navigate through for your visitors.

Always Update and Backup

Keep your site up to date and make sure it loads quickly; this can only assure it will continue to run smoothly. For example if you use WordPress for your website, it is critical to update WordPress itself, themes, and plu  gins. I highly recommend you also backup your website often to avoid losing anything. You never know when a server will crash and sometimes you can’t get that hard work you put into your website back.

Constantly Add Content

It is absolutely a great idea to have a special blog or news section on your website where you can write often. By constantly adding quality content, targeting specific key terms, and doing your SEO (search engine optimization) for each post, it will increase page ranking with search engines. Plus this is a great opportunity to promote a product or service, so write about it.

Clear Call to Action

Make sure your visitors are leaving your website with what your ultimate goal is. So if you are selling a product or service, make your call to action very clear for visitors to find and want to click on.

Clear Call to Action

Capture Email Addresses

This is one of the best ways to gain loyal visitors. Capture email addresses so you can market your website, and link to interesting news posts from your website.

Capture Email Addresses

Promote

That’s great if you can get visitors through organic search results to visit your website, but there is so much more you can do to drive visitors to your website. Join all the popular social networks for your website such as Facebook, Twitter, Google +, etc. Follow blogs related to what you do and leave comments. Often times you can leave your website URL or link from an article related found on your website with your comment, this is a great way to create backlinks. You can also do this with forums, so join in on these as well and offer your knowledge.

Be Personal

Let your visitors know you are a real human behind your website. Offer ways to interact with them, respond to emails, respond to comments on social media, and do what you can to network.

Promote

Follow these points to get on your way to a successful website! Remember to stay up on it, always update, and keep it interesting. You can read a post found on my website “18 Free Blog Tools” (http://www.webjess.com/free-blog-tools/) that will not only help your blog, but also your website.

  1. While mybabybundles is most popular I would like to start working on weddings and noticed that some of the designers show their entire collection of wedding pieces on each page. Example: The wedding invitation at the bottom will show the RSVP and Shower in same design. I am not sure how to accomplish this and could use your help.

  2. Generally I don’t read article on blogs, however I wish to say that
this write-up very pressured me to try and do it! Your writing style has been surprised me.
    Thank you, quite great article.
