In this Designer Moment, you’ll meet Gina Gomez of My Wedding Bliss who, up on a mountaintop, designs gorgeous rustic wedding invitations while hanging out with her bulldog Tank.
Tell us about yourself! Where is your hometown? Where do you live now? Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of design? Any fun facts about yourself?
I was born and raised in New York City. I currently live in the mountains of North Carolina. In addition to Zazzle, I do photography for weddings and portraits. I’m a mother of four and grandma of two. I’m also a huge dog lover. I work for the Long Island Bulldog Rescue doing all of their graphic art.
Tell us about the space where you do your work. Do you have an official studio or have your carved out a nook in your home? Both are equally wonderful and we’re excited to learn more!
I currently work in the guest room of my home. It’s quiet, and my dog Tank is always on the bed near me.
What is your background in art/design? What got you started creating?
I started doing Zazzle to sell my photography. But I quickly branched out to designing products. It’s so much fun. It doesn’t feel like work.
Where do you find inspiration for your designs?
I find inspiration all over the web.
When do you feel you’re most creative? Your least?
I work mostly at night. It’s quiet and the phone isn’t ringing.
What are your favorite products to design on Zazzle?
I love designing wedding invitations and RSVP cards.
If you could wish for one new product on Zazzle, what would it be and why?
I would love to see curtains on Zazzle. I personally love curtains. How cool would it be to be able to customize them? I think parents would buy them for their kids’ rooms for sure.
What was the very first Zazzle product that you sold?
I’m not sure. I think it might have been a phone case.
What are your favorite product types to design on Zazzle?
I love to design invitations, phone cases and home decor.
What Are Your 4 Favorite Products in Your Store?
Do you have any advice for new Zazzle Designers?
Be patient. My oldest daughter started on Zazzle two years ago and I constantly tell her, don’t get frustrated. Success will come if you stick with it. Zazzle is a job, it’s not a get rich quick scheme. You have to work on it, every day. If you put in the time and effort, I believe you will see success.
Is there anything else you’d like our readers to know about you?
I’m a very driven person. When I want to do something, I give it 150%. I’m also a huge animal lover. If I ever became rich I would open an animal sanctuary.
