Summer is just around the corner so today we’ve got a refreshing DIY project to help you cool off and impress your friends while entertaining in the sun. These mint ice cubes require little skill but pack a big punch. They make fancy drinks and cocktails look and taste great.
I’m guessing you’ve made ice cubes before, so let’s get right into it.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Filtered Water
- Ice cube tray
- Zazzle Custom Mason Jars
Here’s how you do it:
- Before you begin, lightly wash the mint in the sink. Next, remove mint leaves from the stems and place one or two leaves in each cube section.
2. When you’re done filling each cube with mint, pour filtered water over the tray. Some leaves may float to the top and that’s okay, just make sure they are submerged enough to be coated with a thin layer of water. Freeze.
3. After a few hours, remove your tray from the freezer and check out your awesome cubes!
Then, serve them up! I poured citrus sparkling water over the cubes in a mason jar and garnished with a slice of orange. When the ice melts a bit, the mint flavor adds a lovely freshness to the drink. These would also be a great addition to mojitos and mint juleps!
Why stop at there? After making these, I’m excited to try more festive ice cube recipes. I think berries, cucumbers, or edible flowers would be delicious and beautiful floating around in my summertime drinks. What ice cube additions sound good to you? Let us know in the comments!
