DIY: Dreamcatcher Card Display

By • 2 months ago with no replies yet

In my opinion, snail mail will never go out of style. I love receiving cards from friends and family, especially during the holidays. With the season just around the corner, I’ve decided to come up with a couple of ways to show off sentimental sendables. In this particular DIY project, I’ve created a yarn hoop, dreamcatcher display that is perfect for holiday cards, wedding invitations, and baby announcements that are too pretty to toss. These dreamcatchers also make for modern wall art when your mailbox is empty!

Want to make them yourself? Here’s what you’ll need:

o   Metal Craft Hoops

o   Yarn

o   Scissors

o   Mini Clothespins

Here’s how you do it:

1.       Start by tying a knot of yarn around a metal craft hoop.

2.       Next, pull yarn across hoop and wrap around. Do this again and again, creating a starburst pattern. Keep the yarn taut. Repeat this motion until desired fullness.

3.       When finished wrapping, tie knot around hoop to complete.

4.       Add mini clothespins by clipping them to taut yarn. These will be used to hold cards in place.

5..       Lastly, hang hoops to a wall with push pins, map tacks, or nails. Attach cards and announcements and admire the beautiful display!
