Tell us about yourself!

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh but relocated to Chicago about 5 years ago. My day job is in the marketing department at a musical theatre company. My one great love outside of art and design is musical theatre, both viewing and performing in.

Tell us about the space where you do your work.

I have a small nook in the condo my husband and I recently renovated, but I did most of my Zazzle designs in our old apartment which was 350 square feet, so my studio would get unpacked and repacked every time I went to work on something new. I actually took a long break from designing because all my free time and energy went towards the renovations. But we’re all settled now and I’m back at it!

What is your background in art/design? What got you started creating?

None! My mom is a hobby artist as well and I just sort of picked it up a few years ago after seeking a stress reliving hobby. I do have a bit of experience in graphic design from years of playing with Photoshop and a few classes in college.

Where do you find inspiration for your designs?

Most of my designs come from my favorite things — food, flowers, travel, etc. I paint the things I like in real life and put them on products I’d actually want to buy!

When do you feel most creative? Your least?

When I’m well rested, I’m most creative! I’m least creative when I’m stressed and have no time or energy to create.

What are your favorite products to design on Zazzle?

I love mugs and t-shirts.

If you could wish for one new product on Zazzle, what would it be and why?

More pet items – I adopted a Shepherd mix a few months ago and I love to spoil him.

What was the very first Zazzle product that you sold?

A Mug? I don’t even remember!

What are your favorite product types to design on Zazzle?

Clothes and home products.

What Are Your 5 Favorite Products in Your Store?

This Might Be Rose’ Mug

Paris French Watercolor Doodles Tote

Galaxy Print Outer Space Watercolor Headphones

Champagne and Donuts Watercolor V-Neck T-Shirt

Watercolor Floral Luggage Tag

Do you have any advice for new Zazzle Designers?

Keep playing around with your designs. I was surprised how some of my favorites haven’t sold well, whereas things I just feel ‘meh’ about have been really popular.
